Quick Start

From Kmaps

sitvare KMaps has a lot of features that you may learn over the time. This is just to get you started:

You will notice KMaps icon in your Treo screen (check Unfiled category). Click the icon to start KMaps. You will be asked to register with email and password. Enter your email address and any password. After you register, KMaps will display the initial Settings screen. Scroll all the way to the bottom of the screen and save the default settings (Save button). You can change the default settings later ( e.g. the initial map size if too small etc.).

KMaps will display the basic search screen. You will notice two fields: "where" and "what". Start by typing your home address in "where" field (for example, 91 e brookline st boston ma). Click "Go" button. Your home address will appear on the screen. Click Treo menu button to pull down the menu. Select "Save Address To KMaps" menu item. You will be prompted to name the address. Type: home. This way you can save the addresses you use often ( e.g. work, local starbucks, relatives' homes etc.).

Address Notes: At present, Google Maps requires an address to search for (e.g. 1000 Main St. rather than just Main St.). If you don't know the exact address, try 100 or 1000 or 10000 Main St. That might get you close enough to find your actual location. Another option is to search for an intersection. For example, you might search for "hollywood blvd
